About

Eulàlia Comas (she/her) is a theater practitioner based in Brooklyn, NY with roots in Barcelona and the Susquehanna Valley. She works as a director, writer, designer, dramaturg, and stage manager of new and devised works. She also performs as noise theater duo laialeah and co-directs DIY performance venue box machine, both with Leah Plante-Wiener.

Laia was Production Fellow at The Brick Theater, where she worked on over ten productions in the venue’s 23-24 OBIE winning season as a director, designer, stage manager, and technical coordinator. Her play Questions that have Answers was a semi-finalist for the 2024 Terrence McNally New Works Incubator at Rattlestick Theater, and she is a founding co-curator of the website Staff Picks.

Her work has been covered in Staff Picks, The Brooklyn Rail, The New Yorker, Broadway World; curated by the Exponential Festival (haircut play :€, 2025), !?:New Works (Warm Science, 2024), SalOn! (Update to our Community, 2025), CATCH Performance Series (the electrologist, 2024; Replication Baby, 2025), Night Coffee (the electrologist, 2025), Limefest (Bonefruit, 2023; Watching You Watching Me Watching You, 2024); and presented at Collapsable Hole, PS21 Chatham Center for Contemporary Performance, Lenfest Center for the Arts, The Performing Garage, The Flea, The Brick Theater, Chocolate Factory Theater, Loading Dock Theatre, La Mama Galleria, The Tank, others.

She received her BA in religion from Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing graduate clinical training in drama therapy at NYU Steinhardt.

She lives in Crown Heights with her wife and their cat.
